Ernest's Close Calls
Ernest Hemingway was an informant for the FBI in the 1970s and '80s. He says he had a number of close calls, including being called to testify before Congress about Martin Luther King's murder. His defense attorney didn't know that Ernest was an informant when they interviewed him. "He could have gotten off maybe completely," writes author Michael Zuckerman.
