The Joy of Politics

In some ways, the politics of it were rather bitter. But those people who were supporting Obama felt so uplifted by his message that it was like watching some kind of religious conversion. They were going around smiling at each other all the time and volunteering to do all sorts of things. It really felt as though this was a country that was entirely on the up where politics was bringing joy to all of around.
