As bad as things are they can get a lot worse over a longer period of time. I think that applies to Rome to the canonical example where for me the end of the Roman Republic is really the end of Rome. And then ultimately just how big of a you know debt hawk are you? Will the bills ever have to come do if the US has to inflate itself out of this problem? What does that do to its economy?
