Writing Advice - Is There Any Advice That's Worth Anything?

The best teaching i've ever done is when a student gives me her story, and i spend a couple of days really inside it. The point is not to give you the correct readings, but to make a little interplay between us,. And likewise with the writing advice. You know, these ittle folky metaphors that i have there, they's not anything, they're not true. They're just kind of attempts to um a waken awaken something in the reader. If it works, i'm so happy. If not, just reject it meanso.
