The real surprisingly enough is horrible anxiety producing void of chaos slash unknown. The kind of crucial Lacanian move is to say something about the real. We are actually ineluctably drawn to that abyss. There's something in us that longs for contact with it, even as we are terrified of it. And I think that is like the perfect segue into getting into, you know, dosting and Lacan's thoughts on how that develops in our relationship with our mothers.
