The first record we have of a rhino being brought to Europe is actually before either Titus or Trajan's games. In the famous mosaic now called the Great Hunt in the Piazza Amorini outside of Rome, we see it's kind of dramatizes the collection of these menageries. You see animals being brought from all over the empire in various kinds of harnesses and nets. And there's a rhino there. There's keepers with ropes holding a rhino. They would be loaded onto dark cages in hopes of keeping them placid and then loaded onto ships. Some of those ships would make it to Europe and some of the animals would survive the voyage.
