Strain is essentially when you take an object and you apply a stress and that object change changes in length. It's the ratio of the change in length to the original length so, um The way I try to conceptualize it is if you have a fracture Or a fracture gap, the amount of motion or change in length at that fracture gap divided by the original gap is the amount of strain being experienced within that gap. If for example, if you has a 1 millimeter gap and that gap is able to move 1 millimeter You have a pretty high strain environment, whereas it can only move 0.1 millimeter.
