I wanted to work on a balanced investment team that cares about diversity, invest in female founders. I didn't want to do just technology and see beyond really be more of a generalist role than a specific sort of industry focus. Ideally, I wanted to stay in New York but since starting have met so many great investors at funds in different cities. It's hard to take my experience and apply that to sort of a mass framework. People learn in different ways. Some appreciate a sink or swim approach. Some want more of an apprenticeship model. And it totally depends on the individual.
