Russian Counter-Offensive in Ukraine

The Russians went into Ukraine with a very small force. They were successful at conquering a lot of territory, but they didn't have enough forces to hold on to that territory. The Ukrainians did not engage in really intense combat with the Russians to win back that territory. In winning those two pieces of territory back, the Ukrainians suffered substantial casualties.
