The Future of Calvinism, Machan's 1930 Article and Charlie Dennis's Commentary
J. Ross Stevenson wanted to change the curriculum of Princeton, making it less theoretical and more practical. This was in line with really with the student rebellion of 1909 that Machan was so upset about. When the curriculum got altered, Warfield stopped attending faculty meetings. He just wouldn't go to the faculty meetings with Stevenson there. The movement is towards pragmatism. I'm not taking away from how there is value in practical theology. But this type of shift is a shift in philosophy.
