I'm not a Peter Jackson fan, but maybe most people only know as much about Tolkien as Peter Jackson was willing to kind of give them. I do think that his portrayal of Hobbiton is fun and is true to the book. And I think many people are entranced, taken by it and are wistful for it. Maybe the reasons why they might feel impatient with it have to do with some of the effects of the modern world.
