Ada had to cover second shift for sandy acre, who was getting married saturday. She'd paid her dues, had worked the long nights and covered the missshifts. Management always presumed an unmarried woman could just drop whatever she was doing and pick up the slack whenever they was short staffed. But she'd earned her spot on the day shift, by god. And if anybody thought she was giving it up, they had another thing coming.
