Going home was not written by devorjac. It isn't a spiritual that de vorjac heard from harry burley. And it has nothing do with black american music at all. The tuba plays only 14 notes in the entire symphony, but that round and warm color it provides makes it absolutely essential. For then we have to go back to the beginning and hear a beautiful brass corral.
