The idea that bit coine was competing with things on the basis of plonetary properties was correct. But eth has subsequently out competed it, and is like, very likely to maintain that. And i think that the reason is, bicoin has a lot of good monetary properties too. The base layera doesn't have the needed primitives so you cannot trustlessly settle stuff from side chains.
