The question in people's mind is not does the church give me permission to be an anti-Semite, he says. "You go digging in the history and you can find plenty of anti-Semitic, anti-Jewish comments made by prior generations" The light of Christ should be something we hold up both to our own generation and all of the things we get wrong or past generations that our forebearers got wrong.
