LeMaterer's Paper on the Cosmology of the Universe
The receding galaxies as LeMaterer described it in his paper are a cosmological effect of the expansion of the universe. He was the first to say directly that the galaxies are fleeing from us, because space time at each and every point throughout the cosmos is continually stretching. However, not everyone liked this idea, even though Eddington and Decider were now on board, Einstein was definitely not.
