The hunger strike goes on for an incredible length of time. The prison changed its visitation policies, reinstated all those family members whohad been banned,. and kicked all these guys out of long termd solitary confinement. And oddly enough, that series of actions is what leads russell to spend 22 years in solitary confinement continuously. He was following the prison policy to form an inmate club.
