The Logos of God

In Greek thought you ascended to God through knowledge of the cosmos. That's how you got to God. But John is saying that there was a decent of the transcendent God in the incarnation of the son of Jesus. We don't ascend to it. It descends down to us. And we can know truth, goodness, beauty, not ideas, but as a person. These are not ideas to John. This is a person. The world makes sense and at the center of this world it leads to the divine mind. He says: "We uncovered the fundamental ideas which underline creation"
