What Is End-to-End Encryption?
People have kind of latched onto the name, end-to-end encryption, as some sort of a brand of privacy. If your entire encryption is going to come from the same entity that provides you with the service, you lose that advantage. You're still having to trust your provider. The only way to not have to fall into that trap is to either go back to the old model where the software that you use to communicate is different from the entity that provides it with the service.
