Iowiteman and Matthew Fuller on Forensic Architecture

The face is a focal point within the work of forensic architecture. It brings some of these really important issues that we've talked about relating to evidence and on the other hand aesthetically charged forms of image making. The identification of Mengele's skull in 1985 as a watershed moment in the development of what they call the forensic aesthetic. This took place through an imaging process this would be done very differently today probably involving DNA but at the time it was by taking photographs known to depict Mengele while he was alive projecting them onto each other.
