Terry Was Not Brain Dead. She Was Not in a Coma.

Michael Shival was the guardian of his sister, Terry. He tried to remove her food and hydration from a feeding tube after she fell ill in 1990. The case became international news when it got national attention. Michael's family went through a protracted legal battle that lasted more than five years. In March 2005, almost 14 days later, Terry died of starvation and dehydration.
