What Should Core Reading Instruction Look Like?
In a perfect world I could design the curriculum for every classroom. Every teacher should have some basic Orton Gillingham training and be able to directly and explicitly teach the sequence and the structure of our language. Decodable stories you know that's such a huge piece when kids are struggling with reading. If they're not taught and kids can't decode them then that leads to guessing at the words rather than actually reading them.
