Simon Cowell: I tried to build an audience for the six months that followed and that was even more discouraging because it just went nowhere. He says he still had this kind of like, what I want to get out of it, kind of mentality about building an audience. "I started doing this on Twitter and I kind of like settled with myself that if I couldn't reach a thousand followers in that month on Twitter, I would just give up on this audience building" The author now makes his living by sharing content online without asking for anything in return.
