The Death of a Coyote

The coyote's mostly bald head turns 180 degrees to face you. It smiles as a cutting satire of life dances behind its eye sockets. The whole creature seems to exist at a different frame rate than the rest of you, almost like it's animated on threes. Yes, roadkill should remain dead. You hit it with the truck. And everyone else who is behind you, you see as it lays stationary in the road and then begins to move once more. One of its paws shoots up, its elbow shoots up into the air, its other elbow shoots up and it lifts itself up. Great, we're going to let those vultures get back to eating you.
