The flesh is the base animalistic, primal drive or drives in us for self gratification. The ultimate sin reveals itself to be the false assumption of receiving life not as a gift of the creator, but procuring it by one's own power of living from oneself,. rather than from god. But tragically, this concept of the flesh has become a bit of a foreign concept in the west.
