Language Learning - Is There a Cliff After Which I Can't Communicate?
In the guide we talk about this concept of domains and that's exactly what you're describing, taking a step back. One of the issues that I had with my level of conversational ability in Spanish is that there was a very steep cliff after which I could do basically nothing. And so simply transferring to another domain would not necessarily allow me to expand my sentence construction ability or even my native comprehension ability. It's much more about building a very broad, very deep solid foundation in how the language works at a subconscious level as opposed to the very conscious thinking method that I was using in my first attempt at learning Spanish.
