How to Have a 36 Hour Weekend

The New York Times has long run a feature on 36 hours in some destination. The idea is you could go Friday and be gone by Sunday midday. A 36 hour vacation like this isn't doable every weekend, but it is probably doable every 6 weeks or so. If you live near a major airport, there are probably flights that take less than 2 hours.
