i think part of that gave comes from the culture of describing atism. It is such an aglobile experience that it really doesn't fit in the same category as something like anxiety or depression. Otism can be more of a defining aspect of how some one's neurology interfeves with who they are as a person. Impairment change over time, but our impairments are not the definition of the person we want to be. And you have these different development leapsa where we're expected to do things in our environment and still have an inno good identity.
