The Importance of Interviewing John McCain

We made a very conscious decision early on that we wouldn't interview folks like John Mc... We went to John McCain and John Kerry, one of the first meetings we had. They would sort of not just tell us to fix things, but they would have discussions among themselves because they came out from such different places. The idea that you're getting three sides of one conflict must have blown their mind. I think they kept saying, and it was really nice to hear, that no one's ever told this story this way in a book, in a film or any form.
