The Ontology of Cats
When I build an ontology for a client, taxonomies will be a part of that. It is one dimension, if you will, it's the type of dimension. And then along with that, think of it as almost like an ecosystem. You're describing that ecosystem of cats, let's just say the Ontology of cats. So the taxonomy is just a very specific part of it.
