The Pros and Cons of Heuristic Evaluation
Heuristic evaluation is seen as sort of a cure all where it's, well, we can just evaluate it and we figured out all the usability issues. Expert evaluation is not adhering to those heuristics. If you're going to use one of these techniques, if you're just trying to get a clue as to maybe where to start some further investigation, you have to determine with your team,. Whatever the situation, high frequency, high important tasks, three to five, determine that. You need hopefully some information about the users. Maybe there's some personas, ask around. Maybe you have some information to help you understand what they're doing.
