The Witchcraft of Elizabeth Masters
The ship's master prayed for God to reveal the reason for their miseries. He spotted one particular passenger acting in a strange manner. The following day, that same tack snapped despite there being almost no wind. On top of these freak accidents, the surviving passengers and crew were also struck by illness. It didn't kill them, but it didn't make them stronger either. And so the whispers about witchcraft continued to grow.
