What Is Box Breathing?
box breathing is basically picking a count. I usually use heart beats, so i can put my hand on my chest and feel my own heart beat to choose four beats to inhale to,. then to hold your breath to, then to exhale to, and then to just relax to. If you think of it as like four beats a cross, for beats down, four beats across, four beats up. You've created a box. Box breathing is wonderful during the day because it does give you that state of being relaxed but focused. Now there's another breathing pattern that's four, seven, eight. And that one is really good for winding down - getting yourself into a not necessarily alert
