Axelrod: I came down here from New York on a train and it got me thinking about a lot of memories. One of them was the first private plane trip we took to, I don't even remember this, for the 2004 convention. Axelrod: We weren't even sure if we were gonna get out of Springfield in time. The essence of your speech is that there's not a liberal America, not a conservative America,. There's the United States of America where one people pledging allegiance to the Stars and Stripes.
