Russia's Blockade of Ukraine's Black Sea Ports Is a Big Deal for World Food Prices
Before the war, Ukraine was one of the world's largest grain exporters. The global food price index has been dropping steadily since the deal was struck. Saudi Arabia doubled the amount of wheat it would originally be planning on buying. Algeria and Tunisia also upped the amount. They're willing to renew the deal this time, but only for 60 days.
