The Bands of Mourning

The southern scagrains were exposed to an alien magical power in the bands of mourning. The best they could do was the analog copy medallions. But if we saw something way more advanced, like an alien spaceship at area 51, we could make guesses based on what we saw. We couldn't copy it exactly because they're just too advanced,. but we could like make huge jumps in our own technological development.
