The Importance of Education in Building
The next government needs to focus on training and vocational routes for young people in regards to building and construction, too. I don't think there's been enough emphasis in education on encouraging and incentivizing young people to go down those routes. We've got a generation gap in regards to builders, construction workers, carpenters, plumbers, electricians, you name it. Yet we're asking to build X amount of homes because we simply don't have enough. There are some really, really painful heartbreaking stories about the needs of children with autism who need more space or outside space. And that's one of the many reasons getting this right matters.
