Dr. Venkhetaswami is a very powerful devotee of Sri Aurobindo, and the mother. In 1972 he started a small clinic, about 24 beds in it. And now in 1995 it is the biggest eye hospital in the world,. They do 80,000 cataract surgeries a year in that hospital. 70% of the patients are treated free, paid for by the other 30% who get a bed of bedroom.
