Introduction

This is the Energy Transition Show for November 9th, 2022. The energy transition means replacing energy systems that produce carbon emissions with ones that don't. Most parts of the globe now have some sort of policy designed to improve energy efficiency and build more carbon-free energy systems. In this episode we'll recognize some accelerated retirements announced for coal plants in Australia and Germany. We'll salute a renewable milestone for Greece,. compare and contrast the deployment of renewables in China and the US. And we'll note the insurance sector has continued withdrawal from financing fossil fuel projects.
