The Problem With Self-Centeredness
"It's the story about me being inconvenienced that is my problem," he says. "I can't let you have your experience without making it about me." A young man at a meeting in Austin, Texas, was so impressed with his sobriety and how far he'd come but then became troubled when people started snoring next to him. He thought I opened that door for those women because I would look good to them. That's called self-centeredness. It's not about me; it's predicated on things like I shouldn't be disturbed.
