The Hazard of Flooding in the UK

With climate change and other environmental change that humans have caused, we were increasing the number of events from things like one in a given event. And so the hazard would be how often do we expect a given event occurring in a given amount of time in a given location. So we might say in the UK that we have this chance in this part of the country of getting a flood that at this size or bigger. What is that based on? We might look at the past history of flooding. This might be from instruments. It might be from diaries from artwork from newspapers. But we try to get an idea of what has occurred in the past because this gives us an idea for the future
