The Cold War
I think it really got planted in me from living in divided berlin in the 19 ys on what really was the fault line of the world at that time. So many of the great geo political, so many of the divisions of our world and ruptures are kind of 50 years on. And there's ways in which we're now reckoning with things that didn't get reckoned with in the twentieth century because of the cold ware. I think our the excesses of american capitalism, our i think the cold war also was when we started to equate the market with moral good, a, with moral superiority.
