The nile delta in the mediterranean, at the very top of alexandria, becomes completely sodden. And as that warest goes into the nile, you get this kindof shunting on over a period of weeks and months. A southern wind as sorocco comes in about two or three days before the weather breaks. That just pushes all this huge amount of clouds and thunder and lightning up the adriatic. It almost always breaks on this week end. The romans called it faragosta; they still have this holiday the italians on the fifteenth of august which is marks the high point of the italian summer.
