Friar Tuck, a Hermit Friar
Friar tuck was as dangerous as he was lazy. He couldn't stand to be under authority, something that's pretty endemic to being a friar. The church publicly shamed him and expelled him from the order. So now he had his own little hermitage across the stream,. His daily religious observances consisting mainly of hanging out by the stream, drinking and singing to himself. And that's the scene onto which robin stumbled.
