Celeste: A Super Tight Platformer
Celeste is absolutely a masterpiece of game making in a very different way. It's so rare to get a game like Celeste that kind of starts as this indie darling and then explodes into this really well-known giant game. The idea of a super tight platformer is not a new one. Look at the success of even other giant games in the genre like Super Meat Boy. Those games are persistent and people love to play them. And I think that was why this game resonated early on with the critical crowd. But I think it was able to go above and beyond that because of all of the other things that were done so well about the game.
