How to Use Side Chain Compression in Dubstep Mixing

I find myself more often than not using it more surgically, like just trying to get a specific frequency out of the way. But I also use side chain compression in the mixing phase, but I don't, I use it in a way that generates headroom, but without making it audible. That is a very creative use that is typically not done by the mixer in most use cases.
