The Diaphragm Is Meant to Be in Perpetual Motion

Karl had a very clear sense of the on going movement of the breath. He could feel if somebody tensed in their belly to try to send the air out. The moment he felt pressure, he knew that the body would meet the pressure with additional force. As soon as you meet pressure with force, everything braces and stops, and therefore weakens the diaphragm. Karl's hands were non doing, but directed hands, just as every alexander teacher wishes their hands to be.
