The Teapot Effect

The teapot effect occurs when pouring from all kinds of containers. It is probably one of the most common sources of spills and stains around the kitchen. When you're trying to pour out of one container and it just doesn't pour the way you intended, it doesn't arc like you meant it to. Instead, it runs down the side. Often it will be something bright and colorful or sticky that I really don't want to get everywhere.
