i was really blown away by this findings. I did not expect a that when immigrants were primarily european, that the speeches would be so uniformly negative. With immigrants being much more diverse, there is actually difference of opinion. And some anti imigrant politicians that rans pointed to, those are not in any way, outliers,. Those that actually represent what was the common sentiment at the time, which was very anti imigration.
