Depressive Anxiety
I think on the neurotic level, everybody idealizes somewhat and values. When it becomes more extreme, i think we have idealization god making. And devaluation goes so far as demonization. You're making a devil, a demon of this person. But that's the splitting. Then we come to stage four, which is eventually stage two. We have now achieved ambivlence. Splitting is overcome. Ah, this is clines depressive, or, as i prefer to think of it, her reparative position. She called it depressive because she meant depressive anxiety. They thought she was talking about depression.
